- China Unicom announced on August 26 that the company is projected to launch iPhone 4 by year-end 2010 instead of September 2010 as previously reported, making iPhone 4 one of 10 Smartphones to be launched by the company by year-end 2010, the Sohu News reported on August 27. - On August 26, China's MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) announced on its website that the Ministry has issued 356 network access licenses as of mid-August 2010, including 33 TD-SCDMA (Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access) terminals, 26 of which were dual-mode TD-SCDMA/GSM phone models; 22 WCDMA (Wideband CDMA) terminals, 16 of which were WCDMA phone models; 32 CDMA terminals and 134 GSM terminals. In July, the MIIT issued a total of 485 network access licenses.
